...what does matter is what the Bible says.

If I don't go to heaven, will I burn forever?

There are many religious organizations that teach the idea that if you don't go to heaven, you will be tortured by fire for the rest of eternity.

The Bible does not teach that.  In fact, if you do a topic search for 'eternal', you find that "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

I would never advocate using one text to formulate a doctrine, but as you search other texts, compare it to this one and see how they can both be true.  According to this text in Romans, we are rewarded for our sin with death, not with an eternal life of suffering.  This is the death that Christ suffered on the cross for everyone that believes in Him.  This death is not a death we need to experience.  On the other hand, the gift from God is eternal life.  So, if sin equals death and eternal life is a gift from God, where does eternal suffering fit in?  It doesn't.

Eternal life is a gift from God and not something we earn or attain.  The finality of death comes if we don't accept the gift of forgiveness from God.

In the Garden of Eden, the idea of not dying for the consequences of eating the fruit was Satan's first deception.  He said, "You shall not surely die".  Though Adam and Eve did not die physically immediately, they did eventually die physically.  They did however, die spiritually immediately even though God's plan was for them to live forever.

Friend, there are many more verses of Scripture to support this idea.  It is nothing new, the Bible seems to indicate an eternal burning hell, but through a study of the real meaning of the verses, you can have peace in knowing the truth about this subject.  If you would like a more complete study, just let us know by contacting us through our submit a question/a> page.
